Young by name but old enough to know better
Football players get reputations for all sorts of reasons: a goal scorer, a tough tackler, a great crosser of a ball and a cheat!
When former Manchester United midfielder Ray Wilkins commentates he often is heard saying, "Stay on your feet!"
Now I don't know if it's his footwear or his balance but there's something wrong with Ashley Young, he either gets taken down by a lethal blade of grass or a strong gust of wind travelling at seven miles per hour!
Even the footballing God himself, Sir Alex Ferguson, warned him about it.
Ashley Young is nothing more than a cheat and is ruining the game of football. He must know what he's doing and yet he's carrying on; what's even worse is referees are falling for it!
I'm all for 'win the game at any cost' but cheating?
If he wanted to go diving might I suggest joining up with Tom Daly and leave it for the pool and not the pitch.
'David Moyes defended Ashley Young after the Manchester United winger was involved in a new dive row against Real Sociedad on Tuesday.
Young went to ground theatrically during United's stalemate in Spain, earning a penalty that Robin van Persie could only strike against a post.
Replays showed minimal contact from Markel Bergara - who was booked for his apparent indiscretion - and Young was castigated by Sky Sports pundit Ray Wilkins.
"This is pathetic," Wilkins said. "This is as bad for me as all these over-the-top tackles we're getting at the moment because that is a conning of the referee.
"I just wish Ashley would cut this out because he's a good player but he's getting a bad name."
David Moyes defending him is only making things worse; the Manchester United boss is making a bad situation, of which he should be angry at his player, into a situation where both himself and the player look stupid.
United fans paid a lot of money to go and watch the team play and I'm sure most of them didn't want to see one of their own players going down as if a sniper had shot him!
Ashley Young is a good footballer, but sadly he thinks cheating is all right; most football fans would disagree.
